Story
In 2001, Air Bali took flight with a bold vision: to elevate the world of flight tourism in Bali. With just one helicopter and a passionate team, the company initially offered scenic flights, medical evacuations, and survey missions. The dream was born, and the adventure had begun.
A pivotal moment arrived in 2011 when a new partnership led to the establishment of HELISGI. This strategic move allowed us to not only expand our fleet but also develop our own hangar in Benoa. Paving the way for rapid growth, lucrative contracts with prominent mining companies soon followed.
In 2013, HELISGI entered AOC Management, diversifying its fleet with the introduction of Cessna 20612 and Bell helicopters. The year 2015 marked a significant milestone when HELISGI achieved BARS accreditation. By 2016, the company had earned the esteemed Gold status. Fast forward to 2023, HELISGI embraced advanced Bell 407 GXP helicopters and eagerly anticipated the arrival of AW 09 units. With this transformation came a rebranding; the company adopted the name “SGI” to signify its commitment to a broader horizon and expansion plans.
In addition to its already diverse aviation services, SGI is poised to venture into Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations and the world of Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS). These ambitious steps underscore SGI’s relentless pursuit of excellence and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Francois currently sits on the Helicopter Association International (HAI) Board of Directors and is the Executive Director of the Vertical Aviation Safety Team (VAST), Before joining SGi Francois led, a safety focused organisation working with the global Offshore helicopter industry and Managing Director for a firm in the USA designing turnkey aviation solutions. Francois has been in aviation for thirty years with a military background in the South African army and British Royal Air Force, flying both fixed wing and rotary wing, Since leaving the military he flew in airline, freight, VIP and Head of State WIP operations. He served on the Flight Safety Foundation's Board for thirteen years. He served as Vice Chairman of the European Helicopter Association, Vice Chairman of the International Pilot Training Association, Vice Chairman of the International Association of Aeronautical Flight Auditors. Francois is a Fellow with the Royal Aeronautical Society and is an Upper Freeman with the Honorable Company of Air Pilots.

With an impressive 27-year career in the Helicopter Aviation Industry, primarily specializing in Oil & Gas and Ship to Shore Helicopter Operations, Paul boasts a stellar track record of driving business growth through his unwavering commitment to People Growth, Client Relationships, Operational Excellence & Execution, effective P&L Management, and Strategic Business Development. His guiding principles are deeply rooted in his Core Values, which are the bedrock for his personal and professional achievements.

In her role at Air Bali, she plays a pivotal part in spearheading our network expansion within the luxury market in Bali and beyond.
